Former DGP’s granddaughter murdered: Friend’s lover open fire when returning from birthday shopping
Class 11 student was shot dead in the middle of the road in Gwalior. The student was returning home on Monday night at 8 pm with her friend after shopping for birthday on Activa. She had just reached the main road near Sindhi Colony, when the bike-borne assailants from behind stopped the vehicle in front of her and shot her with a machete. The bullet hit the girl’s chest and hand.
The student is the granddaughter of the former Director General of Police (DGP) Surendra Singh Yadav of the state. The attackers are said to be three to four. They had come to kill the student’s friend. The bullet hit the girl student. The suspicion of murder is on Sumit Rawat and his associates. According to the family, Sumit was harassing both the girl students for a long time. Police is raiding in search of Sumit.
The incident is of Tilak Nagar near Mascot Hospital. July 12 was the girl’s birthday. She had also taken money from her father to buy clothes for herself.
A bullet hit the girl’s chest and one hand. She fell down on the spot. The local people took him to the hospital. The doctors declared him dead after examining him twice.
Akshaya Yadav (19), daughter of Shailendra Singh Yadav, who lives in Sikandar Kampu area of the city, used to go to coaching located in Laxmibai Colony. Sonakshi Sharma lives in his neighbourhood. Both went out for coaching together on Monday evening. There she went to the market and bought clothes and then was coming home. Akshay was driving the Activa. Sonakshi was sitting behind.
Both had reached near Tilak Nagar after leaving the Mascot Hospital Square, when the miscreant sitting behind on the bike fired two bullets one after the other. One bullet hit Akshaya’s hand and the other on the chest. The local people took the injured student and her friend to the trauma center of JAH by auto. Police and the relatives of the girl students also reached the hospital. Before the doctors could start the treatment, Akshaya.
On taking the injured girl student to the hospital, the first doctor declared her dead after checking her. When the student was being taken to the dead house, her father Shailendra Singh and mother reached the daughter and told the doctor that Akshaya was breathing. On this the doctors then took him to the trauma center. Meanwhile, SP Rajesh Singh Chandel, ASP Rajesh Dandotia also reached the hospital and the doctor checked the girl again and declared her dead.
