Girls should also come forward in entrepreneurship, Govt. to extend help: CM
Bhopal : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has exhorted girl students to enter field of entrepreneurship. The state government will make arrangements for technology, marketing and capital to set up industries and would also give bank guarantee on loans. Chouhan said at annual get-together of Government Maharani Laxmi Bai Girls College here today that discrimination against girls will not be tolerated.
Referring to measures to empower women socio-economically in the state, Chouhan said that the state government wishes maximum women empowerment. He exhorted girl students to hold big posts and also think about entering field of industries. He said that girls are second to none. They are setting records after records of successes.
The Chief Minister said that 50 percent reservation was given to females in local bodies against which 56 percent women have been elected who are running local self-governments successfully. Women have been given 33 percent reservation in government jobs and 50 percent in recruitment of teachers.
On girl students’ demand, Chouhan announced that Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma auditorium will be air-conditioned in the current year. He said that construction of college’s boundary wall and building will also be completed in the current year. The Chief Minister said that women in the capacity of daughters have also been pioneer in India. He announced that a scheme would be chalked out under which the state government will bear entire expenses on education of poor talented students. Its objective is to ensure that talented students do not lag behind due to shortage of money.
Higher Education Minister Umashankar Gupta was the chief guest. Municipal Corporation Chairman Surjeet Singh Chouhan was guest of honour. The Chief Minister felicitated with gold medals girl students who secured highest marks in college level exams and performed best in sports competitions.
Principal Dr. Induprabha Tiwari read out progress report. The Chief Minister also released college’s newsletter and research magazine.
