Patil Sworn-in as Rajasthan Governor

Punjab Shivraj Patil has been sworn in as Rajasthan governor in Jaipur today after he was given the additional charge in the wake of the demise of Prabha Rau, said media reports.

Patil was administered the oath of office by Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice Jagdish Bhalla at a simple function in Raj Bhawan, reports said.

Besides, two minutes silence was observed as a mark of respect to late Governor Rau.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, cabinet ministers and other senior bureaucrats were present on the occasion.

Prabha Rau had died due to a heart attack in New Delhi on Monday.
