Scholarships to children of families engaged in unclean occupations

Bhopal : Pre-matric scholarships have been made available to 32 thousands children of families engaged in unclean occupations in the state. The Scheduled Castes Welfare Department has made a provision of about Rs. 8 lakh in its budget. As many as 30 hostels are also being run for imparting quality education to children belonging to these families.
students placed in companies : As many as 10 thousand 297 government college students who persued education in the year 2009-10 to 2011-12 are placed in different companies. This has been done through career fair and campus placement.

Along with 3000 students selected in campus, 1585 students were placed through career fair in the year 2009-10. Similarly, 1524 and 4188 students have been placed respectively in the year 2010-11.

It is noteworthy that various Job-oriented training programmes are also being carried out under the Swami Vivekananda Career Fair Scheme.
