Home Minister Bachchan instructs senior police officers in meeting

Make elaborate security arrangements in view of decision on Ayodhya

Home and Jail Minister Bala Bachchan issued instruction during the meeting of Home Department and senior police officers at the Mantralaya today that in view of the upcoming decision of the Supreme Court on Ayodhya, adequate security arrangements should be made to maintain peace and law and order in the state. Other senior officials including Principal Secretary Home S.N. Mishra and Director General of Police Vijay Kumar Singh were present in the meeting.
Home Minister Bala Bachchan said that adequate number of armed forces should be deployed in sensitive and hyper-sensitive areas of all districts of the state and the flag march should be continued. He directed that special check should be kept on social media and strict legal action should be taken against those spreading rumours, sending provocative messages and remarks on any particular religion. Minister Bala Bachchan said that after assessing the situation in time, a proposal for obtaining para military force should be kept ready apart from the police force if need arises.
Minister Bala Bachchan directed to carry out intensive checking campaign everywhere along with the inter-state borders. He said that railway station, bus stand, hotels, lodges, dharamshalas and other public places should be specially monitored. The control room should be alert 24 × 7. Minister Bala Bachchan said that the police should maintain constant contact with the prominent citizens and the representatives of various communities in order to maintain peace and mutual harmony in the society. He instructed to hold meetings of peace committees and Nagar Raksha Samitis and urge them to cooperate in maintaining peace and harmony.
Director General of Police Vijay Kumar Singh informed that detailed guidelines have been issued to all the Inspector Generals of Police and District Superintendents of Police to maintain peace and order.
