New dimensions to be added to Gwalior’s development: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that not only the past glory of Gwalior city will be revived with the cooperation of people, but new dimensions will also be added to the city’s development. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing a public meeting at Antyodaya Mela at Phool Bagh Ground in Gwalior today. Shri Chouhan announced a new fly-over near Shastri Bridge in Padao area. The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stone of works under various schemes in Gwalior city costing Rs. 179 crore 34 lakh. At the fair, financial assistance worth Rs. 5 crore 71 lakh was distributed to 14 thousand 325 beneficiaries under various schemes of the State Government.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government is taking care of farmers interests for making agriculture profitable. In the series, facility of paying electricity bills only twice a year at the rate of Rs.1200 per horsepower has been provided to farmers. He said that every village in the state will start getting 24-hour power supply from May this year, which will boost agriculture as well as industries in villages. Shri Chouhan said that the State Government will ensure loan to students for higher education by giving loan guarantee. Similarly, upto Rs. 25 lakh loan guarantee will be given by the State Government to enable youths to set up industries. On the occasion, the Chief Minister and other guests also released Gwalior Vision Documents & Gwalior City Guide as well as “Pragati Ke Sopan” development booklet brought out by the district administration on development block-wise achievements and Bhau Sahib Potnis Scheme chalked out by GDA. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan handed over keys to 256 allottees of houses constructed at Suresh Nagar in the city under the Integrated Slum Programme. He also laid foundation stone for houses to be built for other 929 needy families of weaker sections in the city.
Member of Parliament and State BJP President Shri Narendra Singh Tomar expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister for making available Rs. 80 crore in two phases for Gwalior city’s development. In-charge of district Dr. Narottam Mishra, Medical Education Minister Shri Anoop Mishra, Minister of State for Home Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha, Rajya Sabha Member Smt. Maya Singh, SADA Chairman Shri Jai Singh Kushwaha, Samanya Nirdhan Varg Kalyan Ayog Chairman Shri Balendu Shukla, GDA Chairman Shri Ravindra Singh Rajpur, Rajya Gau-Samvardhan Ayog Vice-Chairman Shri Padam Baraiyya and other public representatives were present on the occasion.
