Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered to restore normal movement of trains

HISAR: Activists of All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti continued to squat on various rail tracks in Haryana. However High Court of Punjab and Haryana order directing Jats not to disrupt movement of trains.

Three week long protest of jats affected rail traffic badly in northern India, Northern Railways is also forced to cancel several trains and divert routes of some trains also.

Due to the blockade of rail tracks by the Jat activists, train services on 14 mainlines in Haryana, continue to remain disrupted including Mumbai-Delhi-Rewari, Bhiwani-Delhi-Rohtak, Delhi-Ludhiana-Jind, Narwana-Kurukshetra, Rohtak-Panipat, Rewari-Loharu, Loharu-Jaipur, Hisar-Jaipur, Bhiwani-Hisar, Hisar-Bathinda, and Delhi-Jind-Ludhiana

Jat protestors have been demanding inclusion of their community in the OBC list so as to avail the benefit of reservation in government jobs.

Directed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the district administration has served the copy of the notice to the Jat leaders Daljit Panghal, Ram Bhagat Malik and Rajiv Sehrawat. The Jat community had threatened to cut off the national capital from the rest of the north India in the next phase of their stir if the demand was not fulfilled by March 28.

On Thursday Punjab and Haryana High Court directed the Haryana government to immediately get the rail tracks and other blockades cleared to restore normal movement of trains again.
