MP to be made number one state: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh will be made number one state of the country. He said that earlier Madhya Pradesh was counted among sick state, but now it has come in the first row by attaining highest growth rate in the country. The Chief Minister was addressing dedication function of newly built railway over bridge on National Highway and Antyodaya Mela at Maihar in Satna district today. Public Works Ministers Shri Nagendra Singh, in-charge of district and Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, MP Shri Ganesh Singh, MLAs Shri Motilal Tiwari, Shri Jugal Kishore Bagri, Shri Surendra Singh Gaharwar, Shri Shankarlal Tiwari and Shri Ram Khelawan Pate, Zila Panchayat President Shri Gaganedra Pratap Singh and other public representatives were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister inaugurated rail over-bridge on railway gate on National Highway No. 7 costing Rs. 11 crore 5 lakh at Maihar. The Chief Minister said that in Uttarakhand Madhya Pradesh government rescued not only state’s citizens but also of other states. About 7 thousand people were rescued safely. State’s pilgrims were brought to Madhya Pradesh by special plane also.
Shri Chouhan said that the State Government has fulfilled its resolve to supply power for 24 hours. He said that benefit of 24X7 power supply will be availed in real terms when small and cottage industries are set up in villages. The Chief Minister said that the government is carrying out infrastructure works like road, power, irrigation etc. at a rapid pace. In the state, 90 thousand kilometer long roads have been constructed. In Satna district, roads worth Rs. 1 thousand 575 crore are being constructed.
The Chief Minister said that Satna district will leave behind Punjab and Haryana in times to come through Bansagar and Bargi dams. The Chief Minister said that electricity bills of BPL families will be waived. The government has fixed flat rate of Rs. 1200 per horsepower per annum for farmers. They can deposit electricity bill in two installments in a year. Meter reading of farmers connections will be stopped. At Antyodaya Mela, Shri Chouhan inaugurated and laid foundation stones for works costing Rs. 21 crore 98 lakh. He distributed assistance worth Rs. 37 crore 12 lakh 23 thousand to 2 lakh 51 thousand 478 beneficiaries.
