CM extends Deepawali Greetings to People

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan chaired meeting of Narmada Control Board today. An administrative sanction was given for three irrigation projects worth Rs. 658 crore 96 lakh in the meeting. These projects will facilitate irrigation in 39 thousand hectare land. Beside this, tender for two irrigation projects costing Rs. 911 crore 62 lakh has been approved. These projects will provide irrigation facility in 57 thousand hectare land.

Due to the election code of conduct, Dhimarkhera Micro Irrigation project’s proposal has been kept in the abeyance in the meeting. It is informed that Chodi Jamaniya Lift Irrigation Project worth Rs. 68 crore 36 lakh will facilitate irrigation in 4000 hectare area in Khargone district. Moreover, irrigation facility will be developed by Balkawada Lift Irrigation Project costing Rs. 123 crore 69 lakh to facilitate irrigation on 9000 hectare area in Khargone district. Also, irrigation facility will be provided by Jawar Lift Irrigation Project worth Rs. 466 crore 91 lakh to 26 thousand hectare area in Khandwa district. Similarly, Chhaigaonmakhan Lift Micro Irrigation Project worth Rs. 567 crore 10 lakh will provide irrigation facility in 35 thousand hectare land. Beside this, Bistan Lift Irrigation Project worth Rs. 374 crore 63 lakh will provide irrigation facility to 22 thousand hectare land in Khargone district. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed the officials to complete the irrigation projects works within stipulated time.

Minister for Forest Dr. Gourishankar Shejwar, Minister for Revenue Shri Umashankar Gupta, Minister for Public Works Shri Rampal Singh, Minister of State for Narmada Valley Development (Independent Charge) Shri Lal Singh Arya, Chairman Narmada Valley Development Authority Shri Rakesh Sahni, Chief Secretary Shri Antony De Sa, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri B.P. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Narmada Valley Development Shri Rajnish Vaishya were present in the meeting.
