Court accepts the closure report of Chouhan case

BHOPAL (PTI): On Monday in a major relief to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the dumper case, a local court accepted the closure report of the Lokayukta police.

Accepting the closure report, the Special Court Judge R K Chouhan in his order said that the probe officer had not left out any angle in the investigations and the charges levelled by the complainant, Ramesh Sahu, with the Lokayukta in this regard were not justified.

By observing the evidences collected by the Lokayukta officer, who had not left out any angle, the court arrived at the decision that the closure report was worth admission.

Following reports about irregularities in the purchase of four dumper trucks in the name of Chouhan’s wife Sadhna which were later leased to the JP Cements’s Rewa plant appeared in the media few years ago, Itarsi-based Ramesh Sahu had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta and also in the court.

Earlier this year the Lokayukta after probing the case submitted a closure report.

However, Sahu challenged it in the court. The court rejected the complainant’s argument that Lokayukta had submitted the closure report without probing the case, giving major relief to CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
