Pay special attention to court decisions in administrative work

Bhopal: Lokayukta Justice Shri P.P. Naolekar has said that special attention should be paid to court decisions for ensuring strong administration. Lokayukta Shri Naolekar was addressing concluding programme of 15-week basic training of Group A officers of All-India and Central Services at RCVP Academy of Administration here today.

Lokayukta Shri Naolekar said that Right to Information has been introduced in government offices to bring about transparency in administration. He said that failure to take timely action gives rise to corruption. Academy’s Director General Shri I.S. Dani said that definition of administration among masses has changed during last 25 years. Now the administration does not control, but provides facilities. He said that in the times to come, administrators will function as managers and not bureaucrats. Administrative officers will have to give results as public servants in the democratic set-up.

Academy’s Director Shri Rakesh Agarwal threw light on objectives of training programme. He informed that 65 officers of All-India and Central Services underwent training in this batch. These included 11 officers of Indian Forest Service. Officers from 22 states participated in the training. The programme was conducted by Dr. Pragya Awasthi and Prof. Pramod Chaturvedi
