Khalsa Terrorist Bheora Gets Lifer in Beant Singh Assassination Case
For his involvement in the assassination of then Punjab chief minister Beant Singh in 1995, Babbar Khalsa terrorist Paramjit Singh Bheora has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a special court, reported IANS.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Ravi Kumar Sondhi announced the judgement in the premises of the high security model jail, where the trial was being held due to security reasons, report said.
Besides, a fine of Rs 65,000 was also slapped on Bheora, said report.
Bheora was on Monday convicted of criminal conspiracy for his involvement in the assassination of Beant Singh by a suicide bomber, Dilawar Singh, on Aug 31, 1995, at the high-security Punjab Civil Secretariat complex in Chandigarh.
Bheora’s accomplice Jagtar Singh Hawara had already been sentenced to death in 2007 in the same case.
