Rise above Politics, Respect Bachchan: Chouhan to Congressmen

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi to urge her party members to rise above ‘politics of narrow mentality’ and respect Hindi film actor Amitabh Bachchan, reported PTI.

Noting that Bachchan is respected not only in India but around the world, Chouhan said that a great artist was being insulted only due to ‘narrow mentality’ of Congress party, report said.

“The Congress president should ask her party leaders and workers to rise above the politics of narrow mentality and behave properly with the millennium’s super star,” the chief minister was quoted as saying.

He made the remarks while talking to reporters after inaugurating BJP’s new office building in Shajapur.

Meanwhile, Chouhan said in response to a question that corrupt officials and land grabbers would not be spared and that government’s drive against corrupt officials would go on, said report.

Earlier, addressing the party workers he said that there was no groupism in the BJP and it was united.
