Fertiliser to be available to farmers in adequate quantity during Kharif season

Bhopal. The State Government has made arrangements to ensure adequate supply of fertiliser to farmers during ensuing Kharif season. Exemption from obtaining loans has been extended to farmers for lifting advance quota of fertiliser. The Union Government has agreed to make available 25 lakh metric tonnes of fertiliser to the state for the Kharif season against the demand of 27 lakh 7 thousand metric tonnes. Under the arrangements for advance storage of fertiliser, MARKFED has stored five lakh 91 thousand metric tonnes against the target of five lakh metric tonnes. Of this, two lakh 94 thousand of fertiliser has been stored in cooperative societies. At present, two lakh 97 thousand metric tonnes of fertiliser is available at MARKFED level.

Similarly, of two lakh 94 thousand metric tonnes of fertiliser stored against the target of four lakh metric tonnes at cooperative society level, farmers have lifted one lakh 57 thousand metric tonnes. At present, one lakh 37 thousand metric tonnes of fertiliser is available with cooperative societies. Farmers can lift advance quota of fertiliser from the cooperative societies of their respective areas.

It may be mentioned that against the state’s demand for 19 thousand 825 metric tonnes of DAP, Union Government has allotted 52 thousand 650 metric tonnes and supplied 11 thousand 127 metric tonnes of DAP. Against demand of 6,593 metric tonnes of Complex, the Centre had allotted 19 thousand 750 metric tonnes and supplied 2,657 metric tonnes. Against the demand for 22 thousand 31 metric tonnes of urea, the Centre allocated 65 thousand metric tonnes and supplied 53 thousand 521 metric tonnes. Against the demand for 6,660 metric tonnes of potash, the Centre allocated 10 thousand 300 metric tonnes and supplied 2,640 metric tonnes till April 2012. Similarly till May 31, the Union Government allocated one lakh nine thousand 500 metric tonnes of DAP against the state’s demand for 78 thousand 487 metric tonnes and supplied 39 thousand 657 metric tonnes. Against the demand of 26 thousand 719 metric tonnes of Complex, the Centre allocated 17 thousand 600 metric tonnes and supplied 10 thousand 974 metric tonnes. Against the demand for 46 thousand 875 metric tonnes of urea, the Centre allocated 87 thousand 550 metric tonnes and supplied 87 thousand 552 metric tonnes. Against the demand for 17 thousand 730 metric tonnes of potash, the Centre allocated 14 thousand metric tonnes and supplied 3,935 metric tonnes.

Similarly till June 2012, 70 thousand 200 metric tonnes of DAP was allocated against the demand of one lakh 62 thousand 500 metric tonnes, 15 thousand 400 metric tonnes of Complex was allocated against the demand of 55 thousand 174 metric tonnes, 88 thousand 100 metric tonnes of urea was allocated against the demand of one lakh 87 thousand 500 metric tonnes and 12 thousand metric tonnes of MOP was allocated against the demand of 42 thousand 100 metric tonnes.

The rake points where there is demand for DAP and urea include Mandideep, Betul, Meghnagar, Harpalpur, Damoh, Chhindwara, Gwalior, Dewas and Satna. Urea is in demand at Katni, Chhindwara, Meghnagar, Satna and Laxmibai Nagar rake points.
