One lakh students to practice Yoga on World Yoga Day on June 21

Bhopal: A major Yoga session will be held at Bhopal on World Yoga Day June 21. One lakh school and college students will take part in mass Yoga practice at local Jamboree Maidan. ACS School Education Shri S.R. Mohanthy chaired a meeting of officers to review preparations for the mega event.

Shri Mohanthy apprised himself about training of the students taking part in the event. He said that strategy should be chalked out for start of Yoga practice on just one signal. Large number of students of schools of Bhopal and nearby districts are participating in the programme. It should be ensured that apart from schools, students of colleges, technical and medical institutions, NCC and NSS also participate in it. He directed to erect waterproof pandal in view of 3rd week of June.

The meeting was informed that mass Yoga practice will start at 7 am, which will be of 15 minutes’ duration. This will include Sukshm Vyayam, Pranayam and Surya Nakaskar for 5 minutes each. District collector will coordinated the programme. Bhopal Collector Shri Nishant Warwade informed about preliminary preparations.

Shri Mohanthy said that proper arrangements of security, transport, food, drinking water etc. should be made at programme venue. Training should be imparted to master trainers for imparting training to students. Training will be held at different centres from June 10 to 15.

Principal Secretary Higher Education Shri K.K. Singh, Principal Secretary Education Shri Ajay Tirkey, Commissioner Rajya Shiksha Kendra Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami, Commissioner Public Instructions Shri D.D. Agrawal, Commissioner Archaeology and Culture Shri Ajatshatru, Secretary Board of Secondary Education Shri Shashank Mishra and officers of School Education, Tribal Welfare, Technical Education, Culture, Medical Education, Urban Development, Public Relations and Sports & Youth Welfare were also present on the occasion.
