Yoga programme to be held on June 21 from state capital to Panchayat level

Bhopal: Yoga programme marking International Yoga Day will be held on June 21 from state capital to Panchayat level in the state. The programme will bring awareness about yoga. Main function will be held at Lal Parade ground, Bhopal in which about 10 thousand students will participate.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave directives regarding the programme at a review meeting of School Education Department here today. School Education Minister Shri Paras Jain, Minister of State for School Education Shri Deepak Joshi and Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa also attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister said that all distinguished personalities associated with state should be invited to the programme including those belonging to sports, literature, culture, political fields etc. He said that Ministers, MPs and MLAs will also participate in the programme in their respective areas. The Chief Minister directed to hold a programme in the first week of July to distribute laptops to meritorious students. It was informed that this year, laptops will be given to 10 thousand students who have secured 85 percent or more marks in class XII.

Review of “School Chalen Ham Abhiyan”

While reviewing preparations for “School Chalen Ham Abhiyan”, the Chief Minister said that this campaign should be undertaken as a mass movement. Admission of cent percent children of 6 to 14 years of age in schools should be ensured including rag picker and destitute children. It was informed that the campaign will be run from June 16 to July 15.

Reviewing School Sanitation Programme, the Chief Minister said that toilets must be constructed in all schools positively by August 15. So far, toilets have been constructed in 10 thousand 329 schools in the state while work is underway in 32 thousand 384 schools. The Chief Minister said that districts with better performance under School Sanitation Programme should be rewarded. ACS School Education Shri S.R. Mohanthy, ACS Finance Shri Ajaynath, Chairperson of Board of Secondary Education Smt. Suranjana Ray and departmental officers were present.
