Delay in her constituency’s water project angers MP minister

Shivpuri: Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhararaje Scindia on Saturday threatened to stage a sit-in protest after work on a project to supply water to her constituency was delayed.

The minister had gone to Sonchiraiya road to see the construction works that were part of the Karondi sump well water supply scheme.

The sump well scheme is a component of the Sindh Water Augmentation Project that aims to create a potable water supply system to Shivpuri town.

Scindia is a BJP MLA from Shivpuri Assembly constituency.

Scindia got angry when, during her visit, she found that a main pipeline, which was to be connected last evening, was still lying incomplete.

“Now, I will have to stage a sit-in here to set things right,” she told media persons present at the site.

She pulled up officials present there and directed District Collector Tarun Rathi to terminate the contract of the agency working on the project.

Later, she left without inspecting the project. A video of the incident went viral on social media.
