Vidisha to become ideal district: CM
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Vidisha will be developed as an ideal area as per its historic, archaeological and cultural glory and importance. Vidisha will have all basic amenities. Shri Chouhan was reviewing development works at a meeting at Vidisha collectorate today.
The Chief Minister said that an action plan should be chalked out keeping in view construction of toilets in every rural household and basic facilities of health, education, drinking water, roads, power etc. Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa and Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Aruna Sharma were also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that piped water schemes should be started in villages where water resources exist. He directed officers to construct minor and major dams to increase area under irrigation. The Chief Minister said that Vidisha has always been pioneer in wheat production. Its Sharbati wheat is famous all over the country. He directed Agriculture Department officers to impart training of latest farming techniques to farmers of the district. He said that apart from traditional farming, cultivation of flowers and medicinal plants should also be promoted. Food processing plants will be set up in the district.
The Chief Minister asked officers to motivate youths to set up medium industries. It was informed at the meeting that industries are being set up in 205 acre area in Jambar Bagri. Shri Chouhan said that a new 350-bed hospital will be constructed at Vidisha. He also held discussions about the proposed medical college with officers. Shri Chouhan also held discussions on connecting all villages in the district with main roads. It was informed at the meeting that 36 roads are sanctioned under PMGSY and 147 under CMGSY. In the district, 1100 roads are to be constructed under Panch Parmeshwar Yojana. At the meeting, discussions were also held on construction of over-bridge at Khari Phatak apart from Betwa river’s beautification, transport Nagar at Vidisha, regularisation of illegal colonies in the district, construction of pucca houses in slums, giving pattas of shanties, construction of Mukti Dham in every village and auditorium at the district headquarters.
