Use of simple language will bridge gap between administration and people: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Hindi’s simple vocabulary in governance bridges gap between administration and people. He said that Hindi is a powerful medium to have dialogue with people to extend benefits to them easily. The Chief Minister was chairing session “Hindi in Governance” at 10th Vishwa Hindi Sammelan here today.

The Chief Minister said that before independence administrators maintained distance from people through English and later a mentality developed that only the speaker of English is the best. Such mentality still exists among some people who are votaries to dominance of English. He said that he is not against any language, but English never became common people’s language in India.

The Chief Minister said that there is no lack of talent, capacity and ability among Hindi-medium students. This has been proved by SC and ST students of remote areas of the state by passing Entrance Tests of national level educational institutions this year. He said that Hindi is language of knowledge, science and technology. He said that use of simple Hindi will be promoted by implementing suggestions to be put forth in the Sammelan.

Shri Rajendra Prasad Mishra said that Hindi in administration should be people-oriented ensuring their welfare. Dr. Ram Lakhan Meena said that Hindi is a rich language with capacity to absorb words of other languages. It has also immense potential of expression and creation. Joint Secretary National Language Department Smt. Poonam Juneja informed about historic situations about making Hindi national language.

MP Dr. Satyanarayan Jatiya said that now Hindi is spreading in the country. In institutions like “ISRO”, 90 percent correspondence is made in Hindi, which is inspirational for it. This session was conducted by Shri Harish Naval.

Various participants gave suggestions to use of Hindi in administration to make the language simple. Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, Makhanlal National University of Journalism’s Vice Chancellor Prof. B.K. Kuthiala, Prof. M.P. Sharma, Prof. Chandrakala Padiya and Hindi scholars and Hindi lovers were present in large number.
