United efforts needed to make Madhya Pradesh more prosperous and strong

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that united efforts are needed to make Madhya Pradesh more prosperous and strong. CM Shri Chouhan was addressing people at various programmes during his “Aao Banayen Madhya Pradesh Yatra” today. On the occasion, he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for over 40 works costing Rs. 54 crore 11 lakh at Umaria during. He also distributed cheques of Rs. 23 crore 53 lakh and material to 7 thousand 453 beneficiaries. The Chief Minister announced that rice at Rs. 1 per kg will be given to hailstorm-affected farmers till next crop.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to changing the destiny and image of Madhya Pradesh by working hard during next 5 years. He urged all sections of society to contribute in this in right earnest. The Chief Minister said that rice at Rs. 1 per kg will be given till next crop to the farmers whose crops have been damaged by hailstorm. Besides, fertilisers and seeds for next crop will be provided at zero percent interest rate. He said that Mera Khet Meri Maati Yojana has been launched in the larger interests of farmers. Through it, farmers can get their fields leveled and also construct farm pond. He said that scholarships will also be given to students of general category along with SC, ST and backward classes. Rs. 15 lakh per head will be spent on sending meritorious students for foreign studies. He said that now the state government will bear total expenses on education of poor families’ children.

The Chief Minister exhorted government officers and employees to discharge their duties as public service. He said that employees’ problems will be solved but negligence will not be tolerated in any case. Shri Chouhan said that 15 lakh houses will be constructed for the poor during next 5 years in the state.

At “Aao Banayen Madhya Pradesh” convention, the Chief Minister inaugurated 13 works costing Rs. 41 crore and laid foundation stones for 27 works costing about Rs. 13 crore. The Chief Minister also inaugurated an exhibition put up by various departments on the occasion and appreciated their works.

The Chief Minister undertook surprise inspection of district hospital after the convention and sought information from Chief Medical and Health Officer.

During “Aao Banayen Madhya Pradesh Yatra”, Smt. Sadhna Singh, Tribal Welfare Minister Shri Gyan Singh, MLA Sushri Meena Singh and officers accompanied the Chief Minister.
