Union minister Gadkari to lay foundation of Rs 758 crore flyover in Jabalpur

A flyover of about 6 km length will be built in Jabalpur to ease pressure of traffic

Jabalpur: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will lay the foundation of Rs 758 crore flyover in Jabalpur on February 22 at Damoh Naka at 2 pm. Public Works and Environment Minister Sajjan Singh Verma will preside over the programme. Social Justice Minister Lakhan Ghanghoria, Finance Minister Tarun Bhanot, Leader of the Opposition Gopal Bhargav, MP Rakesh Singh and Vivek Krishna Tankha will be special guests in the programme.
A flyover (elevated corridor) of about 6 km length will be built from Damoh Naka to Ranital, Madan Mahal Chowk, Medical College Road in Jabalpur under the Central Road Fund. The flyover will ease pressure of traffic on these roads. In addition, traffic up to Madhya Pradesh High Court building will be regularized.
There will be a cable stay bridge of total 385.50 metres including a 193.50 metre mid-span and 96 metre edge span on the Madan Mahal Station in the flyover. Simultaneously, there is provision of a bow-string type bridge of 70 metre span crossing the Baldev Bagh Square and a bow-string type bridge of two spans of 65 metres crossing the Ranital square. Pile foundation will be made use of in the foundation of bridge.
