Ujjain is spiritual capital of Madhya Pradesh: CM

Bhopal. Ujjain city has been decorated, improved and developed with hard work. This look of Ujjain should perpetuate and never deteriorate. Ujjain should become a centre of religious tourism in the country and world so that people should feel that their religious journey is not complete without visiting Ujjain. This was stated by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan while expressing gratitude for Simhastha’s success to Ujjain’s residents, voluntary and social organisations, all sections of society, officers-employees and volunteers at Ramghat on Kshipra banks at Ujjain today.

The Chief Minister said that that unique scene of religious faith, trust and devotion during Simhastha. All records were broken. Baba Mahakal’s Ujjain is a unique city. The Chief Minister said that that he has become a devotee of Ujjain’s residents. People of Ujjain had opened their doors and hearts to serve devotees during Mahakumbh. They left no stone unturned for Simhastha’s success like marriage of daughter. He said that credit of Simhastha’s success goes to blessings of Baba Mahakal and saints-seers and goodwill of Ujjain’s residents.

The Chief Minister urged residents of Ujjain to maintain roads, bridges, culverts, temples and Kshipra ghats and preserve water in the river. Ionisation plant should also continue. Foundations should be made permanent and lighting arrangements should also be continued. The Chief Minister said that sewage water will not be allowed to fall in Kshipra river. For this, Rs. 232 crore has been sanctioned for treatment plant. Fruit bearing trees will be plants on both its banks. The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also administered oath to Ujjain’s residents to keep Ujjain clean and beautiful and plant saplings.

School Education Minister Shri Paras Jain, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Satyanarayan Jatia and Shri Iqbal Singh Gandhi also spoke on the occasion.

Honour of Sub-Committees and social organisations at Niranjani Akhara

After expressing gratitude towards Ujjain’s residents at Ramghat, the Chief Minister reached Chhaoni of Shri Panchayati Niranjani Akhara. He honoured office-bearers of Simhastha Mela Sub-Committees and social organisations for commendable service during Simhastha.
