Teerth-Darshan Yatras should reach all religious beliefs’ pilgrimages

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed that pilgrimage journeys under the Mukhyamantri Teerth-Darshan Yojna till financial year end should be scheduled in such a way that they reach centres of pilgrimage of all religious beliefs. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing the progress of the Mukhyamantri Teerth-Darshan Yojna here today. It was informed at the meeting that 32 thousand 240 persons were taken on pilgrimage under the scheme till January. Religious Trusts and Endowment Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma and Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram were also present at the meeting.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that dates of pilgrimages should be fixed in view of senior citizens’ convenience and requirements. There should be no inconvenience to senior citizens during journeys. He said that advance schedule for Teerth-Darshan trains should be chalked out for entire year during 2013. Shri Chouhan congratulated officers for effective implementation of the scheme. He said that letters of commendation will also be sent to railways officers who have implemented the scheme remarkably.
Culture Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma informed that more senior citizens than target will be taken to pilgrimage. As many as 80 thousand senior citizens will be taken to pilgrimage against the target of 60 thousand. He informed that arrangements for 11 thousand pilgrims’ journey have been made. Schedule of 44 trains has also been released. He informed that as per senior citizens’ demand, 33 trains were sent to various pilgrimage centres including eight to Rameshwaram, seven to Jagannath Puri, three to Dwarka, five to Vaishno Devi, four to Tirupati, three to Shirdi, one to Kashi and two trains were sent to Ajmer Sharif.
