Target to irrigate 25 lakh hectare in state this year

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a target has been set to irrigate 25 lakh hectare in the state this year. Efforts to make agriculture profitable in the state have started yielding encouraging results. Madhya Pradesh has become the highest foodgrain producing state in the country. For this, the state has also been awarded by the President.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing villagers at village Mudari in Jabera Janpad of Damho district on Saturday. He assured construction of an overhead tank and main road in the village. He said that villages in the state will start getting 24-hour supply soon. Shri Chouhan said that Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Free Medicine Distribution Scheme has been launched for providing free medicines in government hospitals. Now X-ray and other tests will also be conducted free.
The Chief Minister said that teachers should teach properly. Their interests will be fully taken care of. He said that a database of guest faculties will be prepared. Recruitment of contract teachers will start soon.
Water Resources Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya, MLA Smt. Uma Devi Khatik and other public representatives were present on the occasion.
Worship at Yagya Shala
At the village, the Chief Minister performed worship at Siddh Baba Mandir Yagya Shala alongwith his wife. He interacted with villagers, held dialogue with them and received their applications.
