State Tops in Family Welfare Services
Bhopal. Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare has conferred award to Madhya Pradesh to provide maximum services under the male sterilization in the country at National NSV Conference at New Delhi. The award was jointly conferred to Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in the conference. It may be mentioned that review was done about the male sterilization programme in all the states in the conference and Madhya Pradesh was declared first. Joint Secretary Health and Family Welfare Ministry of Union Government Sushri Vandana Gurnani presented the award to the Director of Family Welfare Madhya Pradesh Dr. B. S. Oahari.
In order to pay attention towards more participation of male in family welfare programme, many strategic efforts are made, which has resulted in expected increase in male participation. The male sterilization procedure NSV is an easy and can be performed in less time.
Male sterilization services are being provided with quality in the state. Due to the efforts of the state government, people have begun to understand the importance of a small family. Now family welfare is not only the responsibility of the women. Deputy Director Family Welfare Dr. L.B. Asthana and officers of other states related to family welfare programme were present in the programme.
