Spiritualism, Corruption Free System to Drive India’s Emergence: CM

Bhopal  —  Shivraj Singh Chouhan Tuesday said yoga, spiritualism and a corruption-free environment will see India emerge as the most progressive country of the world, the chief minister was addressing a function organised by Bharat Swabhiman Evam Patanjali Yog Samiti to mark Swami Ramdev’s visit to the state capital.

In his address, Chouhan equated Swami Ramdev to a modern-day Vivekananda and expressed confidence that his efforts would prove instrumental in giving a new identity to the country and help defeat divisive forces.

Chouhan further called for improvements in banking and currency systems, a national debate and speedy decisions on electoral reforms like – simultaneous Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections, direct election of Prime Minister and Chief Ministers and state funding of elections.

Terming Swami Ramdev’s visit to the state capital as an auspicious occasion, Chouhan assured his full cooperation in his work.

Speaking on the occasion, Swami Ramdev expressed happiness that Chouhan himself was playing the role of Yoga instructor during this visits of rural areas.

He said that soon a branch of Patanjali Yoga Peeth will be established in the state and added that the Patanjali Samiti will conduct 11 lakh yoga classes in Madhya Pradesh through Yoga instructors.

Shedding light on the Samiti activities, Swami said the efforts were directed at checking corruption and black money and the called for retraction of policies implemented during the British rule.

Industrialist and chief editor of Dainik Bhaskar Ramesh Chandra Agrawal, Gufa Mandir Mahant Chandramadas Tyagi, yoga exponents and office-bearers of Patanjali Samiti were present on the occasion.
