Social harmony necessary for all-round development

Bhopal: Water Resources and In-charge Minister of Tikamgarh district Shri Jayant Malaiya has said that social harmony gives boost to efforts for all-round development and more meaningful efforts need to be made in this direction. Shri Malaiya was addressing an untouchability eradication camp at Orchha today. Shri Malaiya said that the State Government is making concerted efforts to uplift deprived sections and bring them to the mainstream of development.
Shri Malaiya exhorted teachers to imbue virtues in students so that untouchability can be rooted out from society. District collector and other people’s representatives were present on the occasion.
Review of Orchha development action plan: The same day, Shri Malaiya and Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram reviewed action plan chalked out for Orchha’s development. Shri Malaiya directed that more attention should be paid to tourist facilities with a view to attracting increased number of tourist to this world famous historical site. He said that the schools and government offices being operated in archaeologically important buildings should be shifted elsewhere. The In-charge Minister directed to construct public toilet immediate to put a check on the tendency of open air defecation on the river bank and advise cattle rears not to leave their cattle in the open. He directed to construct a Gaushala at a suitable place with the cooperation of Gau-Samvardhan Board.
The Chief Secretary directed to display paintings depicting events of freedom movement at Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Memorial at Orchha. He stressed the need for effective check on use of polythene, plastic bottles etc. in Orchha city. Principal Secretary Housing and Environment Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Tourism Shri Pankaj Rag, Principal Secretary Shri S.P.S. Parihar and divisional commissioner Shri R.K. Mathur were also present on the occasion.
