Several important works in public interest with dedication and hard work during 10 years
Bhopal. A number of important works have been undertaken in public interest in Madhya Pradesh during last 10 years with dedication and hard work and no stone has been left unturned in ensuring development. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan was addressing ‘Dus Ka Dum’ programme of a private TV channel in New Delhi today. Sharing experiences of his 10-year term as the Chief Minister, Shri Chouhan said that 10 years ago, Madhya Pradesh was considered a sick state grappling with problems of power, roads and water. But now it stands among developed states of the country. Sharing his core feeling, the Chief Minister regretted that health sector could not be developed as desired. Its main cause is unavailability of adequate number of doctors and experts. For this, he has also urged doctors belonging to the state residing outside the state to contribute in state’s development. He said that he would accomplish this work also in future.
Shri Chouhan informed that during this development journey he held dialogue with all sections of society and convened their panchayats. For framing policies, suggestions were sought from concerning sections and put into practice. The Chief Minister said that decisions were also taken in the state to eradicate corruption by seizing properties of corrupt persons.
Shri Chouhan informed that immense infrastructure development has been undertaken in the state during last 10 years and considerable investment has been made in agriculture production and industrial section. A network of roads has been laid in entire state. Madhya Pradesh has become self-reliant in energy sector and is supplying power to neighbouring states. Madhya Pradesh has been conferred Krishi Karman Award for last consecutive 3 years by the Central government for outstanding achievements in agriculture sector. State’s agriculture growth rate has reached 24.99 percent. A number of welfare schemes have been implemented in the state for SCs, STs, Backward Classes and Minorities due to which these sections have carved special identity in society. Along with general category, students belonging to reserved classes have also reached new dimensions in education. For women, 50 percent posts have been reserved in panchayats and 33 percent in government service, police and Forest Department.
Shri Chouhan informed that various schemes have been implemented in the state for all-round development of women and girls. Earlier, birth of a daughter was considered as a curse, but now people do not consider girls as burden. The state government has implemented schemes for welfare of girls and women right from birth upto education, marriage, service etc. In view of success of state’s Ladli Laxmi Yojana, a number of state’s have replicated it. Along with girls, the state government has also paid special attention to boys. The state government has assumed responsibility to make them self-dependent by ensuring their education and training.
