Seek permission prior to release of IDs and smart cards for schemes

Bhopal: The state government has directed to seek permission before issuing IDs or smart cards except those which come under purview of an Act’s provisions, like driving licence by sending proposal to General Administration Department.
The government considers issuances of ID cards or smart cards for various purposes by different departments. When all departments do so then unnecessary expenditure is made on this duplication and this may also affect administrative arrangements. This issue has become more relevant after preparation of database of Samagra Social Security Scheme.
