Chief Minister announced special facilities for De-notified and nomadic castes

Today at Dushhera maidan in Bhopal, an announcement was made by the chief Minister Shri Shviraj Singh Chouhan while addressing the state level convention of de-notified, nomadic and semi-nomadic castes.

To ensure composite development of de-notified, nomadic and semi-nomadic castes, a separate De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic Castes Welfare Department will be created in the state.. He also informed that socio-economic status of these castes would be properly surveyed to design a integrated development scheme for them. He also informed that Panchayat of de-notified and nomadic castes will soon be organized at CM House.

Parents of these castes was urged by the Chief Minister to educate their children saying that the state government would extend all possible help for their education and open Ashram schools and hostels in more numbers if needed. Chouhan said that the meritorious students would be financially supported for higher studies. Children would be provided text books, uniforms and cycles free of cost. Education of children shall not be allowed to suffer for want of money, he added.

CM said that members of de-notified and nomadic castes have capacities and artistic skills. They would be provided artistic skill-based training enabling them gets employment. Skill Development Centers would be set up for them and after training they would be helped in getting employment.

Responding to the suggestion of setting up CM’s Housing Scheme for De-notified and Nomadic Castes, he said that this would be examined and surveyed. He said that appointment of members in Madhya Pradesh de-notified castes development agency would be established very soon.

Chouhan said that the state government would provide all possible help for the treatment of members of these castes suffering from serious diseases. He said that the nomadic castes fought against the British, who declared them habitual criminals. He added that nomadic castes, tribes supported great warriors like Maharana Pratap, Shivaji for their struggle for freedom. The State Government is committed to all round development of these castes.

Shri Narayan Singh Banjara Chairman of the Agency presented to the Chief Minister a 15- point charter of demands. He said that the under the leadership of Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh has taken concrete steps for the welfare of nomadic castes like issuing caste certificate, self-employment, stipends to school children and hostel facilities etc. He said that Madhya Pradesh has set up an example in the country.

On the occasion Shri Kunwar Vijay Shah Minister for Tribal Welfare, Shri Hari Shankar Khatik Minister of State for Tribal Welfare, BJP State general secretary Shri Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan, MLAs Shri Champalal Devda, Shri Rajendra Shyamlal Dadu, Shri Prem Narayan Thakur, representatives of nomadic castes and other members were present in a large number there.
