Scheme will be started to connect Baiga, Bharia and Saharia families with animal husbandry – MP CM Chouhan

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the state government is starting a scheme to connect Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya families with animal husbandry activities. Under the scheme, two cattle, buffalo or cow will be provided to the families, 90 percent cost of which will be borne by the state government.

The Chief Minister said that in the year 2017, the Diet Grant Scheme was started for special backward tribes with the aim that women should spend the grant amount for the betterment of their families. I am happy that the women belonging to Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya families have utilized the amount of Rs 1000 per month in the right way and its results have also been better.

Chouhan was giving a virtual address by transferring a grant amount of Rs 24 crore 11 lakh 20 thousand to the accounts of 2 lakh 41 thousand 120 women of Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya tribes with a single click. Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Caste Welfare Pallavi Jain Govil and departmental officers were present at the Samatva Bhavan, Chief Minister’s residence. Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sushri Meena Singh Virtually joined from Umaria. Chouhan also interacted virtually with the women of Chhindwara, Umaria and Sheopur.

No stone will be left unturned for the betterment of tribal brothers and sisters

Chouhan said that the Dietary Grant Scheme is being implemented in 15 districts of the state. Apart from these districts, efforts are being made to provide benefits of the scheme to women belonging to special backward tribes living in other districts. No stone will be left unturned for the betterment of tribal brothers and sisters. Free plots will be provided to such families who do not have a place to live and arrangements will also be made to build their houses.

Communication with beneficiaries

Chief Minister Chouhan interacted virtually with Reshma of Chhindwara, Daiji Bai Baiga of Umaria, Usha and Maya of Sheopur. Reshma and Daiji Bai said that it has become easier to provide milk and other nutritious items to the children with the money received from the food grant. Beneficiary Daiji Bai also invited Chief Minister Shri Chouhan to visit Umaria.

In the dialogue, Sheopur’s beneficiary Usha told that she is associated with the activities of the self-help group and conducts the activities of the group through a tablet. Chief Minister Chouhan also took information regarding distribution of food grains and Ayushman card from the beneficiary women.
