Sardar Patel free medicine distribution scheme to be launch on Nov. 7

Bhopal: Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Free Medicine Distribution Scheme is being launched at 1595 health centres in the state on November 7. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch the scheme at Jaiprakash Hospital at Bhopal on November 7. The same day, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan will participate in the programmes to be held for the scheme’s launch at Kasrawad in Khargone district and the next day November 8 at Shivpuri. In various districts, ministers, panchayat representatives and other elected people’s representatives will remain present at the scheme’s launching ceremony.
Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram has directed the Health Department to make available benefits of the scheme to all the patients. He wanted to carry out the scheme effectively from the Health Department.
The Health Department has asked to implement the scheme at all the district hospitals, civil hospitals, community heath centres and primary health centres in the state. Under the scheme, necessary medicines will be made available to patients free of cost. If a medicine is not available at hospital then the hospital management will purchase the same from market and make it available to patient. Under Free Medicine Distribution Scheme, record of doctors’ prescriptions will be maintained and regularly audited. Monitoring of the scheme will be made through computers soon. Ranking will also be given to districts on the basis of their performance.
