Rs. 12 crore additional allocation for flood-affected districts

Bhopal : Spell of good rain is continuing in the state. The State Government is also making available additional relief amounts as per demands of the districts affected by excessive rains and floods. So far, additional relief funds worth Rs. 12 crore 47 lakh have been made available to 23 districts. Before the onset of monsoon, Rs. five crore was made available in advance to districts at the rate of 10 lakh to each. Maximum Rs. two crore 80 lakh funds have been made available to Sehore district. Similarly, Rs. 1.50 crore has been allocated to Dewas, Rs. 1.75 crore to Bhopal, Rs. 1.25 crore to Hoshangabad, Rs. 90 lakh to Raisen, Rs. 60 lakh to Harda, Rs. 50 lakh each to Rewa and Vidisha, Rs. 20 lakh each to Khargone, Dindori, Rajgarh and Sagar, Rs. 10 lakh each to Burhanpur, Jabalpur and Sidhi, Rs. 40 lakh to Indore. Rs. 15 lakh to Katni, Rs. 12 lakh to Seoni, Rs. 24 lakh to Singrauli, Rs. 22 lakh to Chhindwara and Rs. four lakh has been allocated to Panna district.

Damage by floods

So far, rains and floods have claimed 31 human lives, killed 319 cattle heads, damaged 14 thousand 56 houses and 971 shanties. Total 675.9 millimeter rains have been registered in the state till August 16, which is 66 mm more than the average state rainfall. As on today, 18 districts have registered above normal rains, 28 normal and four districts have witnessed below normal rains. No district of state has registered scanty rainfall.
