Register yourself to sell wheat on support price: CM

BHOPAL (MPINFO): Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has appealed to the farmers of the state to get themselves registered invariably for selling wheat on support price before the onset of procurement season. In the context of fulsome arrangements for irrigation, he has also assured that projects worth Rs. 7 thousand crore will be implemented this year and cement-concrete canals will be constructed. Chouhan was addressing a function at Rehti in Budhni Vidhan Sabha constituency.

Chouhan made it clear that registration of farmers has been started with a view to eliminating any possibility of irregularities in the wheat procurement and they should show full alacrity in this work. He said that the arrangement for depositing support price, bonus and subsidies under other schemes directly in the farmers’ bank accounts is being made in the same context.

CM assured that a project worth Rs. 119 crore is being completed soon for releasing water from Seep River to Kolar Dam at the earliest. Similarly, barrages will be constructed for ensuring flow of water to those areas where water does not reach in canals. The State Government is also going to spend Rs. 22 thousand on road construction.

Chouhan informed that in another effort in the interest of elderly persons, the State Government is seriously considering to bear the railway expenses of their Teerth Yatra. He also said that the fight against corruption will continue ceaselessly in the state.

Chairpersons of Madhya Pradesh Forest Development Corporation, Warehousing Corporation and Cooperative Marketing Federation, people’s representatives and large number of people were also present on the occasion.
