Provident Investment Co Ltd appealed against Bombay High Court order
BHOPAL: Provident Investment Co Ltd, a Madhya Pradesh government company, has appealed against a recent judgment passed by a single judge of the Bombay high court ordering an inquiry into the reasons behind reconstruction of case papers of a 42-year-old property suit.
On Tuesday told a division bench that the matter is based on records. A detailed hearing will be held on June 30. Attorney General for India, Goolam Vahanvati, appeared for the company. A Mumbai resident had, in 1969, dragged the MP state
Company and the Centre central government to court for redemption and reconveyance of prime mortgaged properties worth over Rs 700 crore in Mumbai and Thane. — Swati Deshpande Law firm Udwadia & Udeshi said they were representing the litigant Hemlata Vedh and in 2009 reconstructed the original suit papers which were found to be “not traceable” in the court’s records department. The comapny has questioned the reconstruction and contend that the matter was dimissed in default.
