Provide honourable business opportunities to small businessmen: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that opportunities of honourable business should be made available to small businessmen. Kiosks for leather craftspersons and systematic market for vegetable sellers should be established in all the urban areas. Shri Chouhan was reviewing activities of the Urban Administration & Development and Bhopal Gas Relief & Rehabilitation departments here today.
Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram and Principal Secretary Urban Administration & Development Shri S.P.S. Parihar were also present on the occasion.
It was informed at the meeting that shades are being constructed for labourers under Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Nirman Shramik Ashray Yojna. The Chief Minister instructed to make available drinking water facility also at these shades. He directed the Urban Administration Department to coordinate with the Labour Department in this regard. He said that all the bus stands in the state should be developed and run as model bus stands. Shri Chouhan instructed to chalk out and submit a concept plan regarding this.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan congratulated the department for cent-percent target achievement in Swarn Jayanti Shahri Swarozgar Yojna, Haath-Thela and Rickshaw Chalak Kalyan Yojna and welfare scheme for urban domestic women workers.
At the meeting in-principle consent was given drinking water consumer charge in urban areas should be levied on the basis of financial condition. It was also decided that guarantee against 80 percent financial liabilities under BRTS will be given by the State Government.
It was informed at the meeting that urban domestic women workers are being imparted skill development training. More women than target are being imparted training under the scheme. Similarly, city sale committees and zones have been formed in the urban areas. Identity cards have been made available to 61 thousand out of 70 thousand identified vendors.
Schemes worth Rs. 601 crore 44 lakh have been sanctioned in 37 towns of the state under Chief Minister’s Drinking Water Scheme.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also reviewed activities of Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief & Rehabilitation Department. It was informed that Suramya Yojna has been chalked out for gas-affected persons under which 896 houses will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 40 crore. It will be constructed in about 14 acre area. Similarly, employment has been made available to 2153 beneficiaries after training them under Swawlamban Yojna. Training is being imparted to 3400 beneficiaries under the scheme.
