Power Generation in State to Rise by 5,486 MW by 2013-14

With various schemes and projects under construction in different phases, the power generation in the state will go up by 5,486 MW by the year 2013-14, said an official release.

Out of this, 724 MW power generation will rise in 2010-11, 1295.5 MW in 2011-12, 1911.5 MW in 2012-13 and 1555 MW in the year 2013-14, said release.

A 600 MW unit of the 1200 MW Malwa thermal power station will become critical in March 2013 while the second unit in September 2013.

Similarly, one unit of 250 MW each of Satpura Thermal Power Extension unit of 500 MW will start generating power in March and September 2013, while Indira Sagar Right Wing Canal of 15 megawatt will start functioning from May 2010, release said.

Madhya Pradesh has a 10 megawatt share in this project, which the state will start getting in 2010-11.

The first unit of Seepat (3×660 megawatt) will become critical in October 2010, second one in April 2011 and the third one will start functioning from October 2011, said release.

Ninety-four megawatt power will become available from the first unit from the first unit in 2010-11, 94 MW from the second unit in 2011-12 and 95 MW from the third unit in 2011-12, release said.

The Barh thermal power unit’s first phase (3×660) will become critical in December 2013 whose 74 MW share will be given to Madhya Pradesh from 2013-14.

The second phase will start generation from March 2013 from where the state will get 32 MW share.

The first and second units of 1000 MW Moda Nagpur project will become critical from February and August 2012 from where Madhya Pradesh will get 71.5 MW power from 2011-12, 71.5 MW also from 2012, release said.

The project of Messrs Torrent Power is of 100 megawatt capacity from which will start supply power from 2010-11. Units Nos. 7 and 8 of DBC-Chandrapur will become critical from October and December 2010 from where Madhya Pradesh will start getting 200 MW power.

Similarly, the 100 MW DBC-Durgapur project will start generating power in 2012.

Besides, 8 units of the 400 MW Maheshwar hydel power project will become critical from March 2012 and 2 units will start generating power from October 2011, said release.

The Essar project will become critical from 2012 from where the state will start getting 150 megawatt power from 2011-12. the 1485 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project’s first unit will become critical in December 11, second unit in March 2012, third unit in June 2012, fourth unit in September 2012, fifth unit from December 2012 and sixth unit will start generating power from March 2013, release said.

From the first unit Madhya Pradesh will start getting 247 MW power in 2011-12, from the second unit 248 MW power in 2011-12, from the third unit 247 MW power from 2012-13 and 247, 248 and 248 MW power from the fourth, fifth and sixth units respectively from the year 2013-14, said release.

Kamegh and Lower Suwanshri hydel power project will start functioning from September 2013 from where the state will start getting 137 MW power.

The firest unit of Messrs Jaiprakash, Bina will become critical from December 2011 and second unit from March 2012 from where 105 MW power each will be received.

Two units of JPL Nigri, Sidhai will become critical from October and December 2013 from 231 MW power each will become available from the year 2013-14.
