Now, 24×7 power supply in Shahdol division of Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Former Deputy Prime Minister Shri Lal Krishna Advani has lauded Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan for Madhya Pradesh’s achievements in various sectors including power and agriculture. Shri Advani was addressing a function at Shahdol today where Atal Jyoti Abhiyan for supplying 24×7 power in entire Shahdol district and 8 hours for agriculture was launched. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan presided over the function. Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla and State BJP President Shri Narendra Singh Tomar were also present on the occasion.
About 25 lakh people including 3 lakh electricity consumers in 1860 villages in the division will benefi by Atal Jyoti Abhiyan. Shri Advani made formal announcement for commencement of 24-hour power supply under Atal Jyoti Abhiyan to all three districts of the division including Shahdol, Umaria and Anuppur.
The availability of 24-hour electricity will boost cottage and small industry as well as other economic activities. It will also greatly help the students in pursuing their studies.
Shri Advani profusely lauded state’s people and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He said that Shri Chouhan is an ideal Chief Minister since he is sensitive and responsive towards people’s agony. He is also an ideal administrative due to the same quality. He said that Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan have become ideal Chief Ministers in the country. It is a matter of pride for us. Expressing happiness over progress of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Chhattisgarh, Shri Advani said that these states have now shed the tag of backward states and joined the list of progressive states. Shri Advani also referred to Krishi Karman Award conferred on Madhya Pradesh, saying that bestowal of this award by the President to the State is a major achievement. He also recalled development works undertaken during the Prime Ministership of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He also talked about various yatras taken out by him from time to time.
Giving gift of medical college to Shahdol, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that now opportunities will also be available to youths of Shahdol division specially those belonging to SC, ST and OBCs to become doctors. Amidst cheers, Shri Chouhan said that Chief Minister’s Drinking Water Scheme will reach every village soon putting an end to dependence of common people on hand-pumps. He also announced sanction of funds for drinking water schemes of Shahdol division. The Chief Minister assured that the issues raised in the charter of demands by local people will be duly addressed.

Shri Chouhan welcomed former Deputy Prime Minister Shri Lal Krishna Advani in Madhya Pradesh on behalf of people of the state and and his own behelf. He said that Shri Advani has come with the gift of 24-hour power supply for Shahdol division. From today, Shahdol, Umaria and Anuppur districts will get 24-hour power supply. He also talked about relieving farmers from electricity meters, waiving surcharge, support prices for forest produce and providing loans to unemployed youths.
Energy and Mineral Resources Development Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla said that it is the resolve of the State Government to supply power equally to rural and urban area, which is being fulfilled now. At present, power generation in the state is 10 thousand 243 MW, which will increase upto 14 thousand MW by the year-end. The State Government has allocated Rs. 10 thousand crore to the Energy Department to improve power scenario in the state. He said that Madhya Pradesh will become a power cut-free state by June this year.
Member of Parliament Shri Narendra Singh Tomar expressed happiness over fulfillment of the State Government’s resolve of supplying 24-hour power. He said that now Madhya Pradesh has become a bright state.
Labour Minister Shri Jagannath Singh, Minister of State for Forest and Revenue Shri Jaisingh Marawi, Minister of State for SC, ST Welfare Shri Harishankar Khatik were also present on the occasion.
