Now, 104 services under purview of Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act

Bhopal: The total number of services under the purview of Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act will be up to 104 including 52 services of 16 departments already under it. With the inclusion of five new departments including Finance, Industries, Commercial Taxes, Planning and Housing & Environment total 21 departments’ services will be under the Act’s purview.
The concerning departments gave consent to inclusion of 52 new services at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.
Since implementation of the Act, one crore 58 lakh applications were received of which one crore 57 lakh have been disposed of. Presently, 105 out of 336 public service centres are in operation through which 45 services are being delivered and 3 lakh applications have been disposed of. Remaining public service centres will start functioning by the end of January 2013.
So far, 1400 appeals have been received and fines worth Rs. 3 lakh have been imposed on 105 officers for delaying delivery of services. Compensation worth Rs. 2 lakh 46 thousand 536 has been provided to 536 applicants who received services belatedly.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed to simplify procedure to obtain khasra-khatauni. He directed service provider departments to keep a constant watch over status of applications’ disposal and continue to monitor the process. He directed to initiate immediate disciplinary action if services are not delivered within the prescribed time-limit.
Minister of State for Public Service Management Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram and Principal Secretaries of concerning departments were present on the occasion.
