Not going to implement NRC, will go for civil disobedience: CM
Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah ‘Black British’, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday said his government will not implement National Register for Citizens (NRC) in Chhattisgarh even if it is introduced in the country.
Addressing a function held at Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan to mark the one year completion of Congress government, Baghel said “we are followers of Mahatma Gandhi and as he refused to sign on South African register we too will follow the path shown by him (Gandhiji) and will not sign or will submit any document.”
Comparing Modi government with that of British, Baghel further said the former were of fare complexion while these (Modi and Shah) are the ‘black British’. They are indulging in divisive politics and are spreading hatred on the name of religion, he added.
