No liquor shop to be opened on banks of Narmada river: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in an interaction programme, organised in Dindori under ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ – Seva Yatra, said that liquor shop would not be allowed to open on the banks of Narmada River. He said that all people are needed to be addiction-free to make the society addiction-free.

Eucalyptus trees not to be planted

The Chief Minister said that eucalyptus trees would not be planted in Dindori district. He urged farmers to plant fruit-bearing trees and sisters to tie rakhis on trees, along with tying them to their brothers. Shri Chouhan said that entire area from one km alongside of Narmada river, would be made full of greenery. Forests and revenue departments would plant saplings on their respective land.

Treatment plants to be set up

The Chief Minister said that treatment plants would be set up to prevent sewage water flowing in the river. He instructed to get constructed toilets in all houses. The Chief Minister urged for not disposing off waste fruit-flowers and puja material in river. He also appealed people not to disposing off dead bodies in the river. Shri Chouhan said that crematoriums would be constructed for the last rites. Changing rooms would be constructed at ghats for women.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that strict action would be taken against those involved in corruption. He instructed to provide Rs 5000 each to kala mandalis participating in the Seva Yatra. District in-charge and minister for farmer welfare and agriculture development Shri Gaurishankar Bisen also addressed the programme.

Chief Minister covers three km Yatra by foot

On the sixth day of the Seva Yatra, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan walked around three km in Dindori. Thousands of citizens participated in the yatra with enthusiasm. Local artists were dancing on Gudum, Karma and Shaila folk dances. People participating in the Yatra showed keen interest on protection of the Narmada river and cleanliness. Stalls were made for snacks and drinking water by the public for the yatris.

Chief Minister performs puja of Narmada

With his wife, Chief Minister Shri Chohuan performed puja of Narmada river at Dam Ghat. Maha Aarti took place there and bhajan and kirtans were held. Shri Chouhan said that devotees and all people should clean the river daily. He said that state government is working for protection of Narmada river water. The Chief Minister saw ghats at the river.

Union minister of state for health and family welfare Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, minister for civil supplies and consumer protection and labour Shri Omprakash Dhurve, district panchayat president Smt Jyoti Prakash Dhurve, MLA Shri Omkar Markam, wife of the chief minister Smt. Sadhna Singh, Nagar Panchayat president Smt. Sushila Marco, Jan Abhiyan Samiti president Shri Sanjay Sahu, saint Akhilesh Sarvanand, Bhaiyaji Sarkar, Giri Maharaj, public representatives, government officers-employees and rural people were present in the large number.
