New fun place at Neelam Park with boat club, laser show auditorium and much more

BHOPAL: At Neelam Park a new boat club for the boating lovers and an auditorium being built to organise laser shows.

Four crore rupees is an estimated cost to be spent on the project. Boat club will be developed by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation while Bhopal Municipal Corporation has been assigned with the responsibility to construct auditorium, parking and food plaza etc.

In this connection, a meeting chaired by Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur was held at his residence.

Mayor Smt. Krishna Gaur, Tourism, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Tukojirao Puar, Chief Engineer Tourism Development Corporation, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Manish Singh and other officials concerned were present at the meeting.

Urban Administration Minister Gaur said that Neelam Park is a confluence point of the walled city and new Bhopal. It will be suitable place to develop boat club for the tourists and citizens as well.

The Corporation would construct an auditorium of 500 seating capacity. Laser show will be organized every day. Besides food plaza, booking counter, swinging for children and garden will also be developed at the site. Parking lot facility for four and two wheelers will also be provided, said Krishna Gaur.

Shikara boat would be sailing with other boats after the construction of boat club at Neelam Park, she added.

Tourism Minister Tukojirao Puar informed that detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared for boat club by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. An amount of Rs. two crore is estimated to be spent on this. The project proposal has been sent to Central Government for its approval. He hoped that the Central Government would accord its sanction in two months. It may be mentioned here that there was a boat club at Lower Lake in 1991. It was closed down after a new boat club was developed at Upper Lake.
