MP’s second most polluted city Bhopal, AQI-310: Gwalior’s AQI 338

Now slowly the air of the city is getting polluted. After about 6 months, AQI (Air Quality Index) in Bhopal went from moderate to poor. Due to this, Bhopal (Live Monitoring System Environmental Area) ranks second among the most polluted cities in the region. Bhopal recorded AQI-310 on Monday. At the same time Gwalior (Live Monitoring System Maharaj Wada) recorded 338 AQI. Due to this, the pollution in Bhopal has been increasing from the last few days to the red line.

Environmental experts say that AQI generally increases during the cold season. Harmful gases emitted by vehicles in cold weather cannot expand and remain in the atmosphere. As the cold increases, gas and dust particles stay longer in the atmosphere, increasing the AQI.

AQI crossed the red line for the first time every year.

For the first time in 2022, the AQI crossed the red line at 312 on November 1.

312 was recorded on 10 November in the year 2021.

The AQI reached 305 in the second week of November in the year 2020.

Often the dust particles in the atmosphere are not able to expand when it gets cold. So there is an increase in AQI. At the same time, we can also say that the humidity in the atmosphere has also decreased. It also has a direct effect. Many times pollution rises and falls due to wind pressure or wind velocity, Brajesh Sharma, Regional Manager MPPCB
