Over a decade after Love Aaj Kal, Deepika Padukone to reunite with Rishi Kapoor?
Deepika Padukone might reunite with Rishi Kapoor for a film project, claims a recent report by a tabloid. Deepika and Rishi have worked together in films such as Om Shanti Om (2007) and Love Aaj Kal (2009) and now, after a gap of over a decade, they are likely to collaborate yet again.
For those not in the know, Rishi Kapoor’s son Ranbir Kapoor and DP dated for quite a long time before calling it quits. While Deepika and Ranbir continued to work together after their split and were seen in films such as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) and Tamasha (2015), Deepika and Rishi Kapoor somehow never happened to be in same project after Love Aaj Kal.
Presently, Deepika shares a cordial bond with the Kapoor family. She had even paid a visit to Rishi Kapoor in the US where he was being treated for cancer. Rishi Kapoor and his wife Neetu Kapoor had even got a special present for Deepika’s wedding with Ranveer Singh.
On the film front, Rishi Kapoor was last seen in The Body, co-starring Emraan Hashmi and Sobhita Dhulipala, which is currently running in the theatres.
Deepika, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of her next, Chhapaak. The film, based on the life of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, will see Deepika playing the subject. Co-starring Vikrant Massey, Chhapaak has been directed by Meghna Gulzar of Raazi fame. It is scheduled to hit the screens on January 10 next year. At the box office, it will clash with the Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol-starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
