Model industrial centres to be developed in state

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that model industrial centres will be set up in the four proposed industrial corridors. Processes necessary for industrial development will be simplified. Besides, local sentiments will be kept in view while setting up industries and businesses. He said that every possible effort will be made to set up maximum number of industries and businesses in the state so that maximum number of people get employment.

Shri Chouhan reviewed Commerce & Industries Department at Mantralaya here today. Commerce & Industries Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, Principal Secretary to CM Shri S.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary Industries Shri Mohammad Suleman, Principal Secretary Finance Shri Ashish Upadhyay, Commissioner Industries Shri V.L. Kanta Rao and MD TRIFAC Shri D.P. Ahuja also attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister said that process to simplify rules and procedures under Ease of Doing Business should be expedited. Pace of implementation of proposals of Global Investors Summit 2014 should be accelerated. He said that he will himself review them on first Monday of every month. He said that if necessary, he would also visit Japan to bring investment and study possibilities of investment in the state.

The Chief Minister directed to develop model industrial centres in new industrial corridors, which should be equipped with necessary amenities to attract industries and businesses. He said that local sentiments will also be kept in view while setting up industries. He directed to collect information about government land available in ravines of Chambal so that industrial development works can also be taken up there.

Industrial centres to be developed under PPP mode

The meeting was informed that industrial centres in the state will be developed under PPP mode. Work towards this has been started. Assistance for self-employment was given to 20 thousand persons during last financial year. Action has been started on 935 proposals received at Global Investors Summit 2014. For Ease of Doing Business, 151 procedures were identified for simplification. Of these, 60 have been fully simplified while 70 are under process.
