Minister Orders Inquiry into JP Hospital Fire, Report Sought in Three Days

Minister of State for Public Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Mahendra Hardiya has sought within three days an enquiry report on the fire incident at the intensive care unit of the new-born unit at Jai Prakash Hospital, said an official release.

After returning from Indore today, Hardiya directly went to the Jai Prakash Hospital and enquired about the fire incident at the intensive care unit of the new born babies unit, release said.

He talked with the duty doctors, CMHO Dr Pankaj Shukla and Hospital Superintendent Dr NK Saxena.

He instructed the Health Commissioner JN Kansotia to get the incident inquired into.

The minister said that after getting the inquiry report it would be known who were responsible for the fire incident and how it happened, said release.

The Minister of State has directed to take special care on the construction of new-born intensive care units being undertaken in the government hospitals in the state.

After the minister’s order, Joint Director (Health), Bhopal Division, Dr KL Sahu was asked to conduct the inquiry.

Dr Sahu will submit his report within three days about the reasons behind the fire incident and who was responsible for the same, release said.
