Mid day meal in one lakh 14 thousand schools
BHOPAL: The Mid-day Meal Programme Council has made arrangements in one lakh 14 thousand schools in Madhya Pradesh.
About 89 Lakh students studying in these schools are availing the benefits of the program.The programme is being executed through self-help groups which includes 81 thousand self-help groups and 2 lakh 32 cooks.
To make the program a success, kitchens have been constructed in 77 thousand schools in the state and arrangements of cookware have been completed in one lakh 6 thousand schools.
About 2 lakh 27 thousand 781 tonnes of food grains and over Rs. 604 crore have been allocated for schools in the state under the programme for the year 2011-12.
The funds are provided on the basis of of Rs. 2 and 89 paise per student for primary schools and Rs. 4 and 33 paise per student for middle schools.
