Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts still relevant today: CM
Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts are still relevant. Qualitative change can be brought in the life by adopting them. Welfare of the world can be done by following Gandhi’s path. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing a programme at Gandhi Bhavan here today on Gandhi Jayanti. He paid floral tributes to Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi’s statue and former prime minister Shri Lalbahadur Shastri portrat on his birth anniversary.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Mahatma Gandhi gave the world an alternative vision. Innovative experiments were done in the freedom struggle by launching movements like Satyagrah and civil disobedience. He showed the path for eternal peace to humanity. He used to show the path by his own behaviour. The Chief Minister said that every citizen in the state must do a work to serve poor and sufferers. It will be real tribute to Gandhji. He administered pledge for bringing purity in behaviour and authenticity in life.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan awarded winner of essay and drawing competition, inspiring context of Gandhi’s life, favourite song and patriotic song competition. He saw exhibition on life of Gandhiji’s life and planted sapling in Gandhi Bhavan premise. MP Shri Alok Sanjar and former CS Shri SC Baihar and other persons were present on the occasion.
