Madhya Pradesh Hockey Team wins Gold Medal in National School Games
Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh under 17 boys Hockey Team won Gold Medal trouncing Delhi team by 7-0 in National School Games-2016. Madhya Pradesh team has won the medal after 27 years. Minister of State for Technical Education (Independent Charge), School and Labour Shri Deepak Joshi was called on by the winner team.
Shri Joshi said that more efforts are being made to promote games and to encourage players in the state. Madhya Pradesh team reached quarter final after beating Andhra Pradesh by 16-0 and Odisha (Orissa) by 5-0 in league matches. Moreover, Madhya Pradesh team trounced Uttar Pradesh by 5-3 in quarter final and Chandigarh by 10-1 in the semi final. Captain of the team Mohammad Alishan has set record of maximum 22 goals in the games.
Mohammad Hashim as Best Goalkeeper, Aman Khan as Best Full Back, Sourabh Pasina as Best Half Back, Sahib Ur Rahman as Best Skilful Player, Imam Uddin as Best Upcoming Player, Mohammad Alishan as Best Scorer and Best Player were declared of the games.
