Madhya Pradesh BJP said that the union home minister P Chidambaram had insulted the “majority community”

Madhya Pradesh BJP said that the union home minister P Chidambaram had insulted the “majority community” by his remarks that BJP government in the state was encouraging religious fundamentalism.

The state BJP President, Prabhat Jha said, “The statement of the union home minister is an insult of the majority community and if Chidambaram and Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh continue to do so, then they (the majority community) are also ready to settle the score with them.”

BJP President was reacting to Chidambaram’s statement at the local Congress office here yesterday. The union home minister had said that BJP, which rules the state, was encouraging religious fundamentalism, and dividing the society.

BJP President said that it appeared Chidambaram was not aware of prevailing situation in the state and instead of saving the Congress, he was “making another hole in the party’s sinking boat”.
